Comments

The Barred Owl of eastern North America is typical of the 21 species of wood-owl of the gender Strix. The pellets of these wood-owls indicate that their main diet is made of squirrels and wood rats, but also that they prey on a wide range of animals which include insects, lizards and other reptiles, amphibians, birds and even smaller owls.
